Eagle Conference

Before the Conference

• •If you have not already done so, please enter your 3 Acts of Leadership in the Acts of Leadership Form. These “Acts” include things such as: leading an outing, giving a presentation at a Troop meeting, leading an activity or game at a Troop meeting, or being SPL for a Court of Honor. Serving in a leadership position does NOT count as an Act of Leadership. Note: Must have been performed while a Life Scout.
• •Confirm that you have completed your Leadership Tracker for the leadership position you are counting for rank advancement. Be prepared to talk about those leadership acts and the leadership position(s) you held while a Life Scout.
• •Have your Eagle Project Advisor review your Eagle Binder.
• •Make sure that your service hours are logged in your scout handbook. Be prepared to talk about your service project hours.

Bring to the Conference

• •Wear FULL uniform: Scout shirt w/ patches, Scout pants/shorts, Scout socks, neckerchief, and closed-toe shoes. T30 vest not required.
• •Your MERIT BADGE SASH
• •Your scout handbook
• •Your Eagle Project Workbook that has been reviewed by your Eagle Project Advisor
• •Your completed Eagle Scout Application including your Life Statement
• •A parent or other adult to stay with you the whole time

During the Conference

• •Acts of Leadership — Discuss your 3 “Acts of Leadership”
• •Scout Spirit — Discuss 4–6 points of Scout Spirit you have shown (from the Law, Oath, Slogan, Motto, Outdoor Code)
• •Merit Badges — What was fun, what was hard, etc.
• •Leadership position — What went well, possible improvements
• •Service Project Hours — Discuss your completed service hours
• •General discussion — What are you liking, not liking about Scouts? Ideas for improvement.
• •Eagle Project — What went well, what could be improved. How do the estimated hours and costs compare with actual?
• •Eagle Application review — Review and sign-off on your Eagle Scout Application
• •Eagle Board of Review prep — In addition to the normal conference agenda, I will spend time asking you many of the types of questions you will be asked at your Eagle Board of Review. Expect this prep to take up to one hour. You will need to recite the Scout Law, Oath, Motto, Slogan, and Outdoor Code — please be certain you know them before the conference.
